On my way home this past Friday after wrapping up work at a project management company, I sat across from you on the LIRR. You were heading out to Long Island to start what you said was a 13-hour nursing shift—respect, by the way.

At one point, you tapped me on my left shoulder and pointed out the most beautiful rainbow I’ve ever seen—perfectly arched across a bright blue sky, tucked between soft clouds. It caught me off guard, but in the best way. I probably would’ve missed it if it weren’t for you.

We ended up talking—about pickleball (you’ve definitely got a competitive side) and how we both prefer dogs over cats. It was such an easy, natural conversation, especially for a random train ride.

I’ve been thinking about that moment—and about you. I can’t help but wonder what else we might have in common.

If you happen to see this, I’d love to continue that conversation… maybe somewhere that isn’t rushing between stops.
